Stop The Repeated Weight-Loss Struggle With This Advice |

Lots of people have difficulty with losing weight. It can become very confusing since there is a lot of information available. Finding quality information can prove to be difficult. The good news is that you can find the right advice in this article. Keep reading, and use these tips to design a weight loss program that is adapted to your lifestyle.

When you are losing weight, thrift and discount stores are great places to get temporary clothes. This makes sense because if you?re losing weight you don?t want to have to keep buying expensive clothes each time you drop down a size.

A weight loss tip that really works is drinking a big glass of water shortly before a meal. Sometimes, a person?s mind misinterprets thirst as hunger which can cause a person to eat even though their body doesn?t need food. Drinking a cup of water can make you feel satisfied longer and keep you from overeating.

Refrain from wearing loose fitting clothing during the course of the day. A lot of people who are overweight tend to wear loose or baggy clothing to feel comfortable, but it also takes their mind off of their weight. Baggy clothing makes people look like they weigh more. Wear clothing that is more fitted to instantly look slimmer, and to help remind yourself that you don?t need to hide, you simply need to lose more weight.

TIP! Work your way around bad weight gaining habits by adapting to new weight loss habits. Concentrating on positive change is a smart, simple way to remain on a diet.

If you simply hate exercise, see if you can identify an activity you actually enjoy. Ride your bike, play with the dog, go skiing or wash your car. It is possible to burn calories without engaging in the repetitive motion that traditional exercise requires. Choose from the activities you love doing and try to do them more often.

Before you head to the gym or go jogging, ensure that your shoes are comfortable and offer enough support. Workouts put a lot of stress on your body, and ill-fitting or otherwise unsuitable shoes can add to this stress and even cause injury. They need not be expensive or endorsed by a sports superstar, just smart shoes that fit well and feel good.

One excellent method of losing weight is to become a member of Jenny Craig or a similar group. There are counselors to help you and others who are going through the same thing as you. If you can afford it, a diet center like this is a great investment.

If you love eating pizza, there is a great way to minimize the calories you eat. You could wipe each pizza slice with napkins in order to get rid of the excess grease.

TIP! Let others know when you are working on weight loss. You could even start a blog about your weight loss adventures ! This can aid in your goals because by not wanting to let your audience down, you are more likely to follow through with your plans.

A good tip to help you lose weight is to aim for a pound of total weight loss each week. Trying to lose more than that is just too much. Losing weight quickly can harm your healthy and usually results in gaining it back just as fast.

If you make healthy foods, like vegetables, more appealing, you are more likely to eat them. Fruits can be used as desserts or made into chutneys as a healthy accompaniment to low-fat meats or vegetables. Cutting down on processed sugars is one great way to eat healthier and lose weight.

You need to focus on portion control if you want to lose weight. For example, an appropriate portion of meat should only be about 3 ounces, or roughly, the same size as your palm. People who think about what they are eating will lose more weight down the road.

Try adopting an exercise routine when you are on a weight loss mission. If you want to commit to long-term fitness, join a gym. Tai Chi, Pilates, walking or jogging are other alternatives for you to consider. Always talk to a doctor if you are thinking to start a new problem with existing health issues. You can stay healthy just by doing exercises at home.

TIP! Opt for standard sized dinner plates. When you use large dishes, you naturally serve large portions and cause yourself to overeat.

Start small. Start out by giving one unhealthy habit up and slowly start to incorporate better eating habits over time. Getting rid of all your vices at once is a recipe for disaster.

You need to be knowledgeable on weight loss techniques before you begin losing weight. Once you know what you need to do, you can get started on the road to good health and fitness. Adopting a healthy lifestyle can help facilitate weight loss. If you remember to utilize these tips from this article, you will have great success in your weight loss goals.

Find a friend to workout with to maximize your effectiveness when at the gym. Make sure that your friend is someone who has the same goals, performs the same exercises and uses the same diet to get the most of their help. When either of you feels troubled by what?s going on with weight loss, you can talk to each other about how to fix that.

TIP! Getting the proper amount of rest is very important for weight loss. When attempting to lose weight, get seven or eight uninterrupted hours of sleep every night.

Internet Marketing And You: How To Promote Your Business Online ...

Mistakes Are Costing You! Learn To Stop?Making ALL 189 Of Them!

Struggling With WordPress? 100+ Step-By-Step Videos Now Available!

Posted by Administrator on Aug 12, 2012 in Uncategorized | Comments Off

Successful Internet marketing can dramatically increase your company?s profits. In addition to getting new customers, you can communicate with them in newer ways. This article can help you to take advantage of the many opportunities that Internet marketing presents.

When trying to get people to advertise your site or have them link to it, make it simple for them to do so by including a link to us button. Like-minded individuals will be glad to click on that button, embedding your site on theirs forever, and ensuring that anytime someone visits their site, they?ll see, and possibly click on, a link to yours as well.

All your correspondence with anyone on your mailing list should be personalized. Customers and possible customers need something that isn?t impersonal. If you really stop to ponder, no doubt you have had it up to here with bulk e-mail. Targeted, personalized emails will make your business stand out from the rest.

TIP! Always include your keywords in your internal links. Keep your viewers on your site by giving them links to other informational content you have on your site.

Make sure to have your signature, which includes a link for your site, at the bottom of everything that you write online. If you post a lot in forums or on message boards, your link can appear in every single post, if you put it into your signature box. Also, put your business link in your outgoing mail signature. This is an easy way to promote your business without actively having to ?talk it up? to others. Write a catchy sentence just before your link that makes people want to see your site.

Get people excited about your products. Tell people about the benefits that they will receive and the goals that they can reach by purchasing what you have to sell. Having a positive attitude, and being confident that your product will work to the customer?s benefit, will encourage more sales.

Create a game that your customers can play. People are always looking for free games, and an easy game will bring them back time and again. This game could be used to advertise products and services subtly. If you are a purveyor of pet supplies, for example, you might design a canine companion game that incorporates specific products and services you offer.

TIP! Link your website in each signature section that is available to you. When you use an auto signature, make sure the link is in it because every time you post, you link.

It is important to keep track of online sentiment whenever you have an event or promotion running. This allows you to tailor your future strategies more effectively. See how often your online events and other promotions are shared, either on social networks or in related blogs and forums. Respond to the advice by making changes next time. People are always happy when their concerns are addressed.

The whole reason for using Internet marketing is to get your business known by promoting it on the Internet; your campaign should lead to more opportunities. Your campaign should be part of a cycle where new customers are always searching for and finding your business and then buying your products.

Make sure any tags on your web site are directly associated with its core content. This tag will explain in a small blurb what your website is all about. An audience member will determine in a matter of seconds whether or not your website is worth their time based upon that tag. Having a bad or confusing tag can make potential customers take off when they might have made a purchase.

TIP! An important tip regarding Internet marketing is to try to adjust your content and delivery of content in a way so that your customers get the impression that they are completely in control. Most internet users are very suspicious in general, and it doesn?t help that there?s so much spam out there.

Take the time to make a supportive error page. This page will popup whenever something on your site doesn?t work. Avoid the typical basic error message that lacks any real information. There are ways that are better to let the users know you are informed and attempting to repair the issue.

Doing business online is an anonymous affair for the most part. This tactic is truly effective for smaller businesses who tend to rely on the personal aspect of selling.

TIP! Determining a solid path to your business goals can seem intimidating, even when you are well prepared. Sort through the possibilities until a single answer has emerged.

It is obvious that Internet marketing is a great way to get new customers. It is also an excellent way to retain the customers you already have. There are ways to maintain communication between your business and the customer you need that were unheard of years ago. When you adopt the techniques in this article, it is possible to make a market in the Internet marketing world

Movie Review: 'The Campaign' | Movies & TV | Arts & Entertainment ...

Political Satire Runs Only Half the Race

The Campaign

Director: Jay Roach
Cast: Will Ferrell, Zach Galifianakis, Jason Sudeikis, Dylan McDermott, Katherine LaNasa, John Lithgow, Dan Aykroyd
Running Time: 85 Minutes
Rating: R for crude sexual content, language, and brief nudity

Long-term congressman Cam Brady (Will Ferrell) is running for office unopposed again and is guaranteed to win without much effort. But he makes a big public mistake that hurts his campaign.

When this happens, the wealthy, powerful Motch brothers (played by John Lithgow and Dan Aykroyd) decide to fund an opponent to win the votes of the North Carolina district, while scheming to ?insource? sweatshops in order to triple their wealth.

John Lithgow (L) and Dan Aykroyd (R) in the comedy “The Campaign,” a film about a pair of ultra-wealthy CEOs (played by Lithgow and Aykroyd) who plot to put up a rival candidate and gain influence over their North Carolina district. (Warner Bros. Pictures)

The Motch brothers choose Marty Huggins (Zach Galifianakis), who is the most unlikely candidate. Huggins is a simple-minded man who loves his wife, his pugs, and never had much of a competitive bone in his body. He is content with his day-to-day life and doesn?t crave much more, except just the affection and approval of his father.

Huggins is a pawn in the Motch brothers? plot, someone they can easily manipulate into whomever they want him to be.

Faced with an opponent for the first time after many consecutive terms in office, Cam Brady finds himself growing more and more competitive, and the political campaign turns into a mud-slinging war.

\>");

Ferrell and Galifianakis are two comedic powerhouses so natural together onscreen that they become one gigantic cluster of hysterical banter and fun. Their political debates are the golden moments that really give the film its backbone.

While loaded with ?Saturday Night Live?-like humor and topnotch actors, ?The Campaign? runs out of jokes by the halfway mark and starts to look for an escape route.

Supporting actors Sarah Baker (who plays Huggins?s loving wife) and Jason Sudeikis are easily overlooked, as they aren?t used to their full potential. Sudeikis plays Cam?s buddy campaign manager, Mitch, who gets shoved aside and abused despite his continuous efforts to help Cam?s campaign.

Karen Maruyama is a scene-stealer, playing a sassy housekeeper for Huggins?s father.

Experienced comedy director Jay Roach (?Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery,? ?Meet the Fockers?) provides a great satirical commentary on our current political state, yet it quickly fizzles to a screeching halt with an underwhelming conclusion.

?The Campaign? may be fun to watch given Ferrell and Galifianakis? comedic A-game, but it ultimately falls a bit flatter than expected.

After long fight, opening day for Tenn. mosque

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) ? Muslims in the Tennessee city of Murfreesboro said Friday they hope the opening of their new mosque after more than two years of controversy will be a new beginning for relations with the community, particularly their opponents.

Islamic Center of Murfreesboro members include immigrants from Iraq, Egypt, Syria and other countries, as well as American converts. Many of them said that before the opposition to their new building they had always found Murfreesboro to be a welcoming community.

If it were not, the congregation would never have grown to the point where they needed to build a new mosque, they said.

"We are here 30 years and I never had a problem with the people here," said Safaa Fathy, a member of the mosque's board of directors. "It only started two years ago."

That's when the Islamic center received permission to construct a new mosque to replace their overcrowded space in an office park. Since then they have had to deal with public protests, vandalism, arson of a construction vehicle and a bomb threat. Opponents of the project held a protest rally and then sued the county to stop construction.

Their attorneys claimed in court that Islam was not a real religion deserving First Amendment protections. They also claimed that local Muslims were part of a plot to overthrow the U.S. constitution and replace it with Islamic law.

They were unable to prove those claims, which were thrown out by the judge, but construction was nearly halted anyway when that judge ruled in May there was not sufficient public notice for the meeting where mosque construction was approved.

Last month, a federal judge granted the mosque's request for an emergency order that would open the building in time for the holy month of Ramadan, which is still under way.

Matt Miller had just converted to Islam and begun worshipping at the mosque when the controversy erupted. He said all of his friends, whom he describes as "regular American bar-hopping citizens," support the new mosque and are happy for the congregation.

He does sometimes worry that opposition to the mosque could turn violent, but said a friend told him to think about it this way: "If the way you go is praying in the masjid (mosque) during Ramadan, what better way is there?"

Miller said he thinks the opposition will die down after the mosque holds an open house and people "see that there are no underground tunnels. We're not here to take over the world. We just don't want to worship in a shoebox anymore."

Fathy's daughter Amirah Fathy drove up from Atlanta on Friday to celebrate the mosque opening with her parents.

She said she never felt hostility because of her religion while growing up in Murfreesboro. When the controversy over the new building started it was "so strange," she said. "I think we just got too much attention and people got nervous. People fear what they don't understand."

She remembers the congregation meeting in a one-bedroom apartment when she was a child. "It was such a mess," she said.

Surveying the spacious, 12,000-square-foot building with its high ceilings, tile hallways and numerous windows, she said, "The feeling is just overwhelming, the feeling of joy, happiness."

'Selfish' DNA in animal mitochondria offers possible tool to study aging

ScienceDaily (Aug. 9, 2012) ? Researchers at Oregon State University have discovered, for the first time in any animal species, a type of "selfish" mitochondrial DNA that is actually hurting the organism and lessening its chance to survive -- and bears a strong similarity to some damage done to human cells as they age.

The findings, just published in the journal PLoS One, are a biological oddity previously unknown in animals. But they may also provide an important new tool to study human aging, scientists said.

Such selfish mitochondrial DNA has been found before in plants, but not animals. In this case, the discovery was made almost by accident during some genetic research being done on a nematode, Caenorhabditis briggsae -- a type of small roundworm.

"We weren't even looking for this when we found it, at first we thought it must be a laboratory error," said Dee Denver, an OSU associate professor of zoology. "Selfish DNA is not supposed to be found in animals. But it could turn out to be fairly important as a new genetic model to study the type of mitochondrial decay that is associated with human aging."

DNA is the material that holds the basic genetic code for living organisms, and through complex biological processes guides beneficial cellular functions. Some of it is also found in the mitochondria, or energy-producing "powerhouse" of cells, which at one point in evolution was separate from the other DNA.

The mitochondria generally act for the benefit of the cell, even though it is somewhat separate. But the "selfish" DNA found in some plant mitochondria -- and now in animals -- has major differences. It tends to copy itself faster than other DNA, has no function useful to the cell, and in some cases actually harms the cell. In plants, for instance, it can affect flowering and sometimes cause sterility.

"We had seen this DNA before in this nematode and knew it was harmful, but didn't realize it was selfish," said Katie Clark, an OSU postdoctoral fellow. "Worms with it had less offspring than those without, they had less muscle activity. It might suggest that natural selection doesn't work very well in this species."

That's part of the general quandary of selfish DNA in general, the scientists said. If it doesn't help the organism survive and reproduce, why hasn't it disappeared as a result of evolutionary pressure? Its persistence, they say, is an example of how natural selection doesn't always work, either at the organism or cellular level. Biological progress is not perfect.

In this case, the population sizes of the nematode may be too small to eliminate the selfish DNA, researchers said.

What's also interesting, they say, is that the defects this selfish DNA cause in this roundworm are surprisingly similar to the decayed mitochondrial DNA that accumulates as one aspect of human aging. More of the selfish DNA is also found in the worms as they age.

Further study of these biological differences may help shed light on what can cause the mitochondrial dysfunction, Denver said, and give researchers a new tool with which to study the aging process.

(AP) ? Gunmen sprayed a police station in Egypt's Sinai with bullets Thursday, setting off a brief firefight with policemen before speeding away in their truck, the latest in a series of attacks against security forces in the increasingly volatile peninsula, security officials said.

Meanwhile, the military sent additional armored and other army vehicles to boost its strength in a hunt for militants in the wake of a deadly weekend attack that killed 16 Egyptian soldiers.

The security officials also said army engineers were making preparations to destroy or shut an elaborate underground tunnel network linking Sinai and Gaza that is used to smuggle weapons, people and basic goods to circumvent border restrictions imposed against the Hamas-controlled territory by Israel and Egypt. The officials all spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss ongoing operations.

The lawlessness in northern Sinai, which borders both Gaza and Israel, reached a new level with Sunday's attack on an Egyptian military border post. The attackers killed the 16 soldiers as they were breaking their daily fast for the holy month of Ramadan with a sunset meal. They then commandeered an armored vehicle, which they later used to storm across the border into Israel where they were hit by an Israeli airstrike that killed at least six militants.

The attack has rattled the Egyptian government, prompting the country's new Islamist president to sack the intelligence chief for failing to act on an Israeli warning of an imminent attack just days before.

President Mohammed Morsi also sacked the northern Sinai governor. The decisions were Morsi's first moves to assert his authority amid a power struggle with the country's military leaders. But the decisions appeared to have come with the generals' approval as the nation was outraged by the militants' attack, the worst assault on troops from within Egypt in living memory.

The military also announced an offensive in Sinai designed to weed out the militants who have used the security vacuum in the desert region to spread their influence. In a sharp escalation, Egyptian warplanes struck against suspected militant hideouts on Wednesday, but there were no official reports of deaths or arrests in the operation.

The United States voiced support for Egypt's efforts to improve security in the peninsula and vowed more counterterrorism cooperation with its longtime ally.

Large swathes of northern Sinai have plunged into lawlessness following the ouster of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak last year, with a massive flow of arms smuggled from Libya finding their way into the hands of disgruntled Bedouins. The lawlessness is coupled with the rise of al-Qaida-inspired militant groups that are waging a campaign of violence in the peninsula against Egyptian security forces. They have also staged several cross-border attacks on Israel.

Despite the new offensive, attacks against troops have continued, in an apparent message by the militants that they are undeterred.

No one was hurt in the Thursday morning attack on a police station in the northern Sinai city of El-Arish, the security official said. The official also said military helicopters were circling the skies to provide cover for forces on the ground and track militants in mountainous areas unreachable on foot.

Several past campaigns, in which the tunnels were either blown up, filled with water or shuttered down, have failed to stem the lucrative Gaza smuggling. A metal underground fence installed by Egypt has also failed to deter diggings of new tunnels. Meanwhile, Egyptian authorities have kept the Rafah border crossing with Gaza closed to passengers since the attack last weekend.

The military has also urged citizens and local Bedouins to assist it in tracking militants in Sinai.

Handheld cutting tool makes anyone a master carpenter

13 hrs.

There?s hope yet for the fat-fingered set who want to try their hands at precision craftsmanship thanks to a new tool that combines manual and automatic positioning to cut things according to a digital plan.

This could be handy, for example, if you want to make wooden drink coasters in the shape of the United States ? jagged coastlines and all ? for an upcoming presidential debate viewing party.

To do so, just put the tool down on a piece of wood and follow an on-screen guide to move it roughly in the shape of the country. The tool will automatically adjust its cutter to correct your positioning error, explains the Massachusetts Institute of Technology team that created the tool.

Before actually cutting, you have to first move the tool over the piece of wood so that an on-board camera can make a 2-D map of it. Stickers on the surface will help the tool keep track of where it is if there are no other distinctive markings.

Then, load your desired design ? that map of the United States ? onto a computer, which pairs it with the 2-D map of the material about to be cut.?

Once cutting, the system automatically compares all the new images it receives from its camera with the digital map, allowing it to precisely follow the digital plan.

Alec Rivers, a Ph.D. student in computer science and artificial intelligence at MIT, designed the position-correcting tool to make low-cost precision manufacturing widely available.

Most precision cutting tools are large, fully automatic tabletop machines that can only cut shapes that are smaller than themselves. They are also rather expensive ? about $20,000 for a 5 foot-by-8 foot ShopBot mill, the team notes in a paper to be presented?this week at the?Siggraph 2012 conference in Los Angeles.

Want one? A commercial version is under development.?You can add yourself to a mailing list.?

Arresting Thailand Rock Climbing ?

Speak about Thailand and images of beaches, elephants and Bangkok come to mind. Less known is the bottom line Thailand rock climbing is some of the finest in the world.

Thailand Rock Climbing

Located in Southeast Asia, Thailand is bordered by Cambodia, Burma and Laos in the north and Malaysia in the south. The shape of the country is somewhat similar to Italy, and you?ll find similar differences between northern and southern Thailand that you do in Italy. For rock climbing enthusiasts, the south of Thailand is where the action is.

The rock formations in Thailand are almost universally limestone. The level of climbing can be as simple as bouldering or as challenging as tackling over vertical cliffs. This makes Thailand a popular rock climbing destination since it has a little something for everyone.

Krabi

Located on the southern section of the ?tail? of Thailand, Krabi has a wide variety of rock climbing challenges. Most of the climbs in this area are of the pre-bolted sport route variety. There are literally hundreds upon hundreds of climbs with difficulty levels from beginner to multi-pitch knuckle crushers.

The beauty of climbing in Krabi is?well, the beauty. While you might have visions of jungles and mosquitoes when thinking of Thailand, Krabi is an area of a different sort. Most of the climbs have been set up on cliff faces on the beach. Being natural capitalists, the Thai?s have built hotels, bars and so on at these locations. As a result, you can literally climb a multi-pitch route for five hours, cool off with a swim and then have a beer. If there is such a thing as a rock climbing heaven, many feel Krabi is it.

Before you cash in your savings, keep in mind that Thailand is a seasonal vacation spot. If you go during the wet season, there is a good chance you?ll just end up sitting around drinking beer. While that isn?t too bad, you?ll go crazy looking at the climbs that are so close, but oh so far away.

Generally, you want to head to Thailand from late November through maybe April. The summer months tend to be both incredibly hot and wet. Make sure you pull up forecasts for the area before booking a trip.

Flying to Thailand is inexpensive, but flights are incredibly long with stopovers. Still, it is all worth it once you experience Thailand rock climbing.

Red Cross attacked with rockets, grenades in Libya

GENEVA (Reuters) - Unknown assailants attacked a compound of the International Committee of the Red Cross in the Libyan port of Misrata on Sunday with grenades and rockets, forcing it to suspend its work there and in the eastern city of Benghazi, the agency said.

The ICRC said seven of its aid workers were inside their residence when it came under attack. No one was hurt, but damage to the building was extensive.

It was the fifth time in less than three months that violence was directed against the independent aid agency in Libya, the ICRC said in a statement, which stressed its neutrality.

"Given the circumstances, we are forced to announce, with considerable regret, that we will be suspending all our activities in Misrata and Benghazi and that our delegates in those cities will be temporarily relocated," said Ishfaq Muhamed Khan, the head of the ICRC's delegation in Libya.

Several violent incidents have rocked Libya in recent days and included the kidnapping on Tuesday in Benghazi of seven Iranians relief workers who were official guests of the Libyan Red Crescent Association.

Also on Sunday, security forces killed three armed men who were suspected of being behind seven failed bomb plots, said Saleh Darhoub, a spokesman for the National Transitional Council. It was the first deadly clash since the fall of Muammar Gaddafi in October.

Darhoub promised to bring the attackers to court and condemned their act against what he described as "hosts" of Libyans "who did great things for the revolution including in Misrata".

In Geneva, ICRC spokesman Jean-Yves Clemenzo said that the seven staff had withdrawn to its delegation in the capital Tripoli. "We do not know who carried out the attack. Grenades and RPGs (rocket-propelled grenades) were used, it was a serious incident," he told Reuters.

The ICRC has a humanitarian mandate to protect people affected by armed conflict and other situations of violence and to provide them with assistance, it said.

"The ICRC is not involved in political or religious activities of any kind, neither in Libya nor anywhere else," it added. Clemenzo said that the organization was sometimes mistaken for a religious movement, which is not the case.

Throughout the revolt last year that ousted Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, ICRC aid workers delivered food and medical assistance to civilians, including those trapped in Misrata, which was long held by rebels under siege by Gaddafi's troops.

"We are appalled by this latest act and by the deliberate targeting of our staff: they have put their lives at risk to serve the Libyan people both during and after the conflict," Khan said.
